Relay Races

LOCATION: HOCKESSIN LIBRARY – PIEDMONT FIELDS
TIME: 8:30am – 12:30pm (approximately)

WHO?

All kids 3 years and older – boys & girls. If your neighborhood is in the Greater Hockessin – Greenville area, you can compete. Bring one child or one hundred children! Here’s a list of past competitors: Southwood Estates, Grantchester, Stenning Woods, Hitchens Farms, Hickory Hills, Somerset Lake, Southwood, Cotswold Hills, Belle Terre, Deerfield, Grantchester, Hockessin Chase, Hockessin Valley Falls, Pierson’s Ridge

WHAT?

A track-meet style competition between neighborhoods. Three age groups (6-8; 9-11; 12-14) compete in three events: relay race, softball toss & long jump. Medals and ribbons are awarded to the winners, and banners are awarded to the top neighborhoods.

We have a fun run for 5-years & under, plus a fun run for 18-years and older – A MUST SEE!!

WHERE?

Hockessin Library & Piedmont Fields on Valley Road – July 4th (rain or shine)

SCHEDULE

8:30 Arrival (bring chairs, blankets, tents, strollers, etc.)
9:00 Parade of Neighborhoods
9:15 Remarks and National Anthem
9:30 Fun Run – 5 and Under
9:40 Competition Begins
11:45 Fun Run – 18 & Over
12:00 Noon – Awards Ceremony

Why? Why not? This amazing event draws families from all over the Greater Hockessin – Greenville area for a morning full of fun and competition. Bring your neighborhood and families and enjoy a great community event!
